Jakarta and Dublin are seeing the highest price growth worldwide between June 2013 until 2Q14 with each recorded growth of 27.3% and 23.5%. According to Knight Frank Indonesia, Jakarta’s role as international city and limited land supply which leads to premium pricing. Meanwhile, Singapore, Hongkong, Jenewa, Paris and Zurich experienced slowdown in price.

Impor besi dan baja selama empat bulan pertama tahun ini tak separah 2013. Kendati demikian, pembelian dari luar negeri tetap lebih besar dari ekspor. Berdasarkan data Badan Pusat Statistik yang diolah Kementerian Perindustrian (Kemenperin) diketahui defisit pada Januari - April tahun ini senilai US$3,3 miliar. Pada periode yang sama tahun lalu jumlahnya mencapai US$4,6 miliar, turun sekitar 19,6%. Dirjen Basis Industri Manufaktur Kementerian Perindustrian Harjanto mengatakan defisit tersebut disebabkan ketergantungan impor lebih tinggi daripada kekuatan ekspor. "Kalau bicara produk logam, neraca perdagangan kita defisit," katanya, di Jakarta, Rabu (22/10/2014). (Bisnis)
